Why I decided to learn Software Engineering.

After graduating from high school with no idea what I wanted to do with my life, google became my friend. I searched all about career opportunities and what fields were booming with growth. I eventually landed on a forum about the programming industry and how there are so many unfilled high paying jobs.

I watched some YouTube videos and seemed convinced enough to give it a shot. I started with HTML, CSS, and eventually JavaScript. I made a couple of little projects like a calculator and snake game but didn’t see how that would ever help me get a job. I learned about code boot-camps and decided to put a lot of time into researching what my best option would be. During the next 6 months or so I continued to teach myself to code and eventually applied to Flatiron School. Since I have started to code I began to understand why so many people actually enjoy programming. Personally, I like to build things, seeing them go from nothing into a functional program or application is what led me to continue to want to code and learn more.
